Each Wednesday, Eileen Torres hosts what the Washington Post calls "DC's hottest Salsa party" at Zanzibar on the Waterfront. Patrons can expect exciting special attractions on a regular basis including dance performances, screening of Salsa video documentaries, live music from time to time, and other surprises. Zanzibar specializes in Salsa Dura for the pleasure of its "hard -core" patrons. DJs, Tony V "El Sabor", Bruno "El Unico", Willi "El Panameno", Sabroso Killer Joe, Piero "El Clasico" and Nancy Alonso play the best of "old school " Salsa combined with a mix of the best of the new music on the market.

Salsation Wednesdays attracts a mature, sophisticated, upscale crowd that is multi racial, multi ethnic, and with an age range of 21-65+.  The common denominator among this group is the love for Salsa music and dance.

Doors open at 5:00 pm for happy hour with music beginning at 5:30pm. An hors d' oeuvres buffet is served at 6:30 pm. A complimentary dance lesson in Cha cha and Salsa takes place from 7:00-8:00pm.The cover is $5.00 until 10:00 pm and $10 after.

Zanzibar on the Waterfront is Washington, DC's premier international dining and entertainment establishment. It is spacious, elegant, and overlooks the Potomac River. The first floor is dedicated to fine dining. The second floor is the venue for Salsation Wednesdays. There is an outdoor deck on the second floor which provides a breathtaking view of DC by night. The DJ booth is situated on the third floor and overlooks the dance floor. There are three bars; one located in the VIP section of the floor.

Zanzibar is located at 700 Water Street SW on the wharf and just off Maine Avenue. Plenty of parking is available on the street or in the underground garage. For more information call 202 554-9100.

See you at Zanzibar this and every Wednesday!!
