Beginning on January 3, 2001, the classes will move to instruction ON TWO(New York or Mambo Style).
Beginners learn basic step, left and right turns, and how to maintain the rhythm throughout a song while turning.
Intermediates have mastered the beginning moves and learn simple turn combinations and basic footwork.

Dance Biography
Eileen Torres learned to dance Rumba from her father at the age of five. She began performing Mexican folk dance for the fiestas in her hometown of Lorain, Ohio at the age of six. She taught herself to dance to Latin rhythms by listening to Perez Prado recordings at about the same time.
While at the University of Colorado she co-founded the University's first Ballet Folklorico. After studying several dance disciplines, she graduated with a Minor in Dance in 1974. Upon returning to Ohio in 1975, she became instructor and choreographer for the youth troupe, Alma de Mexico. She began teaching Salsa there in 1976. In 1977, she began performing hustle and Latin dance. In 1978, Eileen successfully auditioned for The National Chicano Dance Theater based in Denver, Colorado. The company dramatized the Chicano experience through dance. She toured with the company for two years. Back in Ohio in 1985, she formed and choreographed for the performing group, Salseros Unlimited and Moving Disco Dancers.
Ms. Torres has provided instruction for groups and private students in Washington, DC metropolitan area for the last three years. She has taught at a number of nightclubs as well as for several government agencies, in schools and for health and fitness fairs. She is especially proud of exposing Salsa to a multi cultural audience believing the accompanying music and dance does much to bring diverse peoples together.
Eileen Torres is President of Salsation Productions and Publisher of Salsamundo.com; a web site dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of Salsa music. She has lectured on Salsa many times including the Bacardi Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico, The European Salsa Festival in The Netherlands, the Washington DC Salsa Festival and on other numerous other occasions. In addition, she was contracted by Starbucks Coffee Company to collaborate on the Latin compilation CD titled Mambo Mio. She assisted in the selection of the music and wrote the liner

Eileen Torres offers group and private lessons to students wishing to increase their proficiency in the art of dancing Salsa. Instruction focuses on maintenance of rhythm; fluidity of movement; style
; turn combinations; spotting; posture, focus, etc. Students will concentrate on developing the skills necessary to look good on the dance floor and will gain the ability to lead or follow Salsa’s best dancers.
